[ClickPress, Sat Dec 17 2005] Kia Motors Middle East & Africa regional office in collaboration with Juma Al Majid Est. the sole distributor of Kia vehicles in the UAE had held the 2005 Kia Regional Skill World Cup. The contest was conducted at Juma Al Majid Est. Automobiles’ training centre in Ras AL Khor service centre. 32 national winners from 16 different Middle East and Africa countries including top performers from UAE had participated in that eminent contest.

The contest came as a part of the global competition that Kia Motors Corporation is conducting among all its worldwide distributors. Kia Motors Corporation philosophy which can be perceived significantly is based on providing ultimate customer satisfaction by” Fixing it right the first time” so that every Kia customer gets a consistent and high quality service.

The contest was attended by Mr. K.H. Chung, president of Kia Middle East & Africa Office President and Mr. Hisham Suleiman, director of Automobiles Services in Juma Al Majid Est. Mr. Chung commented on the event by saying “this competition is very challenging. Although all the participants have excelled in their own national skill world cup, only top performers in each country had been qualified to participate in this Regional World Cup here in Dubai.”

Mr. Hisham also commented on the event by noting “we are pleased to organize the 2005 regional Skills World Cup here in Dubai. Our training centre is one of the best equipped automobiles training centers in the region. Our technicians have been well trained and they passed the national Skills World Cup which was held in October 31.” He added “around 5000 hours of training during 2005 will ensure that UAE technicians will get the highest grade and get qualified for the Global world cup that will be held in Korea in 2006”.

The competition consisted of theoretical and practical tests where the participants’ skills were tested in areas related to: engine troubleshooting and repair, automatic transmission troubleshooting and repair, electrical systems troubleshooting and repair.

After the contest was concluded, an awards distribution ceremony was held. The results were very promising and all contestants passed distinctively. Yet, the Global Skills World Cup is very selective and only the first 6 achievers were qualified to represent the Middle East and Africa region in the event in Korea next year. The 6 best achievers who were from UAE, Oman, South Africa and Syria received their certificates, medals and rewards.

Mr. Hisham was proud of UAE technicians results in the competition and confirmed that “ Kia Motors improved vehicles quality along with its worldwide service network and skilled technicians will inevitably assure it meets its corporate objective and be one the of the global top 5 automakers by 2010.” The contest came as a part of the global competition that Kia Motors Corporation is conducting among all its worldwide distributors.
