This was mainly due the popularity of its world-famous brands: Coca-Cola, Fanta, Schweppes, Sprite and others. Historically, Coca-Cola led carbonates and was consistently strong in marketing activities, promotional campaigns and special approach to its consumers. Moreover, during the review period company became even stronger in Russia. Cooperation with Sochi Olympics Games contributed to the growing popularity of Coca-Cola brands in Russia. Coca-Cola executives highlighted the importance of this cooperation as it was extremely successful. Due to this marketing campaign, Coca-Cola took leading positions and saw increased brand popularity in Southern Russia. Company was always a leader, however in this particular region PepsiCo dominated previously. The situation changed due to active company’s performance during the Winter Olympic Games.
