[ClickPress, Mon Dec 19 2005] Paris (France), and Seattle (Washington, USA), 15 November 2005 – ESI Group (ESIN FR0004110310) demonstrated the powerful capabilities of its 64-bit Open VTOS Solution – a proven engineering simulation environment initiated with PAM-CRASH, LS-DYNA, NASTRAN and RADIOSS on Microsoft Windows Compute Cluster Server 2003. The company has also announced the release of the PAM-CRASH solver on Windows Compute Cluster Server 2003.
ESI Group’s PAM-CRASH crash-simulation solution is ported to Windows Server 2003 x64 Edition and integrates with Microsoft MPI and Job Scheduler technologies in Microsoft Windows Compute Cluster Server 2003. Open VTOS encompasses Visual Environment and all of ESI Group’s solvers. Microsoft Windows Compute Cluster Server 2003 offers a cost-effective approach to running CAE applications, which usually require large system resources.
ESI Group has also announced the release of the PAM-CRASH solver on Windows Compute Cluster Server 2003. “This version will allow our customers to benefit from the performance of the DMP (Distributed Memory Processing) version of PAM-CRASH on clusters of industry-standard 64-bit hardware,” explains Vincent Chaillou, President and Chief Operating Officer (Product Operations division of ESI Group).
“We are extremely pleased about this release as it will enable our customers to benefit from the increased headroom provided by Microsoft Windows Compute Cluster Server 2003 and allow them to work interactively with very large models (over 4.5 million elements) that require more than 3 to 4 Gigabits of memory,” adds Jean-Louis Duval, Open VTOS Business Manager of ESI Group.
“We understand the availability of 64-bit applications from software vendors such as ESI is critical in helping our mainstream customers be able to easily deploy, manage and use Windows Compute Cluster Server 2003,” says Kyril Faenov, Director of High Performance Computing at Microsoft Corp. “ESI Group’s PAM CRASH Solver leverages key Windows Compute Cluster Server 2003 technologies, such as Microsoft MPI and Job Scheduler, which in turn simplifies integration for our customers.”
About ESI Group
ESI Group is a pioneer and world-leading supplier of digital simulation software for prototyping and manufacturing processes that take into account the physics of materials. ESI Group has developed an entire suite of coherent, industry-oriented applications to simulate a product’s behaviour realistically during testing, to fine-tune the manufacturing processes in accordance with the desired product performance, and to evaluate the environment’s impact on product usage.
ESI Group’s products, which have a proven track record in manufacturing and have been combined in multi-trade value chains, represent a unique collaborative, virtual engineering solution, known as the Virtual Try-Out Space (VTOS), enabling virtual prototypes to be improved in a continuous manner. By drastically reducing costs and development lead times, VTOS solutions offer major competitive advantages and make it possible to eliminate gradually the need for physical prototypes. This integrated protocol allows all the company’s solutions to work with each other and with applications developed by independent software vendors. By significantly reducing costs and development lead times and enabling product/process synergies, VTOS solutions progressively eliminate the need for physical prototypes during product development, thus offering major competitive advantages.
ESI Group is listed on the Eurolist compartment C of Euronext Paris, and generated sales of €60 million in 2004. The company employs almost 500 high-level specialists worldwide, and covers more than 30 countries.
