JOGMEC Targeted For GTL Investment

Uzbekistan hopes to attract Japan Oil Gas and Metals National Corporation (JOGMEC) for the construction of a GTL-plant for production of synthetic fuel in the country's Kashkadarya province. JOGMEC expects to finalise its participation in the construction of the plant either through technological assistance or investments, by the end of summer of 2014. This comes after state-owned holding company Uzbekneftegaz, South African energy and chemical company Sasol and Malaysian state-owned oil company Petronas signed an agreement in November 2009 to set-up a joint venture named Uzbekistan GTL for the plant's construction.
