With consumers regaining part of the disposable income they lost during the crisis, 2014 registered better growth results than those in 2012 and 2013.

Competitive Landscape

Zara remained the most popular insignia in 2014. With a wide number of stores spread across the country, offering fashionable products at reasonable prices, this Inditex fascia was able to remain highly competitive in the country. In addition to Zara stores, childrenswear was also sold in Zara Kids outlets.

Industry Prospects

Despite the expected decline in birth rates over the forecast period, childrenswear is predicted to increase both in value and volume terms. Birth rates are forecast to reach 7% by 2019. According to category specialists, as the economic environment improves, parents are set to spend more money on childrenswear, with per capita sales rising.
