Native American-owned civil engineering and land development powerhouse moves headquarters to Portla

WHPacific is now headquartered in Portland. Deeply rooted in Oregon’s 21st century evolution, WHPacific, www.whpacific.com, nestled in the southwest hills of Portland, employs more than 75 Oregonians with offices in Portland and Salem. WHPacific is owned by NANA Development Corporation (NDC), www.nana-dev.com, the holding company and business arm of Alaska’s NANA Regional Corporation, www.nana.com.

While primarily an engineering and land development firm, WHPacfic offers a suite of services that includes, but is not limited to development services, land planning, transportation engineering, water resources and environmental design. Projects span the nation while simultaneously defining Oregon’s growing urban landscape. Notable Oregon projects include: Cascade Station, Portland Milwaukie Light Rail Parking Structure, the Pearl District Hoyt Street Yards, the Transit Mall Renovation, Kaiser Permanente Westside Hospital Campus, Nike World Campus Expansion, Peterkort Centre, OHSU Aerial Tran Platforms, as well as renovation and expansion projects at Portland International Airport, Bend, Aurora, Grant County and Lake County Airports, and the Oregon Department of Aviation’s Airport Runway Rehabilitation

Currently in Oregon, WHPacific has active projects including the design for Phase 1 of the Boones Ferry Road Improvement Project. This critical transportation project for the City of Lake Oswego and the Oregon Department of Transportation is approximately one-half mile in length from south of Madrona Street to north of the Oakridge Road/Reese Road intersection. It also includes a new traffic signal at Lanewood Street for pedestrian crossings. Boones Ferry Road Improvements is the cornerstone project of the Lake Grove Village Center Plan. It will define the character of Lake Grove through its design and will greatly enhance the safety and overall aesthetics of the corridor.

Serving local and national tribal governments, WHPacific has worked on multiple tribal projects in the Pacific Northwest for the Warm Springs, Grand Ronde, Tulalip, Puyallup, Siletz tribes just to name a few.

Oregon roots, employee longevity

While WHPacific only recently made Portland their headquarters, the firm has a long history in Oregon. WHPacific’s name originated from the civil engineering firm of Wilsey & Ham, which expanded from Foster City, California to Lake Oswego, Oregon and Renton, Washington in 1969. Wilsey & Ham

incorporated to W & H Pacific in 1991 and merged with ASCG Incorporated in 2005. With the acquisition of ASCG, NANA unified several a/e firms under the name WHPacific. Currently WHPacific has nine offices in the western and southwestern U.S. and Alaska and has grown to more than 250 employees. The Portland Senior Leadership Team company commitment dates back decades to the creation of W & H in the late 1980’s.
