Elgin Church Hosts Post-Election Community Healing Meditation & Prayer Service

In response to the deep divisions in our nation, First Congregational Church of Elgin (FCC) will host a special candlelight healing meditation and prayer service on Thursday, November 10th at 7:00 p.m. The service is open to anyone in the community interested in quiet reflection and prayer as we begin healing our divided nation brought about by the events of this past year’s election.

Dr. Paris Donehoo, senior pastor of FCC, shared that it is his desire that no matter which candidate wins office, that individuals begin to heal from the anxiety, anger and resentments developed over the election and that the divide within our nation begins to diminish as we all work towards unity and solidarity. The FCC community meditation service is one step in that direction for individuals to begin that process. FCC hopes to continue these sessions as needed throughout the next year.

The church is located at 256 E Chicago St, Elgin, IL 60120. If anyone has questions or would like more information, they are welcome to call the office at 847-741-4045.
