The world is grappling with mosquito menace that has drastically affected the health and economy of countries globally. Mosquito borne diseases have increased significantly in last few years. Malaria, Dengue, Chikungunya and other diseases transmitted by mosquitoes have caused immense destruction of lives in several countries. Approximately 40% of world population, mainly those residing in developing and under developed countries are at the risk of malaria. It has been reported that every 30 seconds a child dies of Malaria. According to world malaria report, India accounted for 58% cases in South East Asia Region.

Similarly WHO reports 390 million cases of Dengue fever has been reported worldwide of which 96 million cases became serious enough for medical treatment. In India Dengue cases doubled up in on3 year from 2014 -2016. Delhi was the worst hit with more than 7283 cases of fever been reported. Catching in the similar pace is Chikungunya reporting a whooping 7,425 cases in Delhi itself.

With escalating cases of these deadly diseases, the market is flooded with myriad solutions to combat these devilish flying insects. The most common solutions include mosquito repellents, aerosols, coils, mosquito repellant creams etc. As per the report by Euromonitor, Insect repellents have attained Rs. 4,400 crores in sales per year. Among them coils take the lead with 50% of the market share, sprays are also gaining popularity. Mosquito repellent market is ruled by four major market players Reckitt Benckiser, Jyothi Laboratories, Godrej Sara Lee and SC Johnson. Godrej Sara Lee seems to control nearly half of the market cutting down the on the shares of their rivals. Indigenous insecticide market is pegged to reach Rs. 5,200 crores by 2020. A study shows that mats are more popular in rural area whereas mats and vaporizers are popular in urban areas. Mosquito repellent share in urban population is around 70%. In the coil segment Mortein from Reckitt Benckiser is leading with 33% market share and in the vaporizer segment All Out from S C Johnson has around 69% market share.

Although there are a rising number of people using mosquito repellents still people are getting aware of the hazards related to the chemicals in these repellents. Majority of mosquito repellents contain chemicals like DEET (N, N-diethyl-m-toluamide), diethyl carbonate, ethyl hexane diol and diethyl phthalate. Among these, DEET is considered ‘safe’ when used as instructed. But the usage of DEET in repellants is under controversy as the fumes and vapors of coils, spray and vaporizer are causing several health complications like Breathing problems, cold, cough, eye irritation, asthma, sneezing, ear, nose and throat infection. These problems appear as withdrawal symptoms. Prolonged usage of repellents can cause neurotoxic and immunotoxic hazards and in some cases lead to cancer. Doctors advise pregnant ladies and infants to remain insulated from the fumes and vapors of mosquito repellents. Among other methods, apart from repellents is the traditional means of using mosquito nets that are not very effective in keeping mosquitoes at bay. Mosquito zappers are also used prominently with no significant effect.

The need of the hour is thus to shift over to fast effective, eco-friendly healthy alternative for mosquito relief.

In this segment, Veltosa, a company known for introducing innovative products from world in India has launched a wonderful product named Dynatrap. Dynatrap is already an award winning product which has earned a worldwide recognition as an effective mosquito trap. The company is going to introduce 16 variants of Dynatrap ranging for areas from 1 acre to 300 sq.ft.

DynaTrap, is an eco-friendly chemical- and pesticide-free range of mosquito prevention products which is the affordable, easy-to-maintain and environment friendly. It effectively reduces significant number of flying insects in your indoor and outdoor living spaces. Plug in Dynatrap as soon as the temperatures start rising in order to control the mosquito menace. Dynatrap breaks the lifecycle of mosquitoes in 6 weeks thereby eradicating them. The device can be plugged in 24 x 7 without any side effects. Dynatrap starts trapping mosquitoes as soon as it is plugged on. Hence it advisable to using Dynatrap as soon as the climate becomes warm, indicating the onset of summers.

Dynatrap works in a very unique manner. It mimics the breathing activity of human beings which attracts mosquitoes towards it. Mosquitoes are attracted towards CO2 exhaled by people. The gas is irresistible to mosquitoes and they can detect its presence from as far as 20 feet. Dynatrap does the same.

Dynatrap emits CO2 by the effect of U.V. light on a TiO2 plate. The emitted CO2 attracts mosquitoes towards it and then they are trapped inside a retaining cage through an inbuilt vacuum fan. The mosquitoes are not able to come out and die inside the cage itself, which can be emptied after a definite time period. Dynatrap insures the safeguard of your family and pets from mosquito bites and mosquito borne diseases. The fumeless, odor less technology of Dynatrap keeps your family guarded against any toxic fumes as is the case with popular mosquito repellents (spray, coils, mats, vaporizers etc.) present in the market. Dynatrap is designed for home as well as outside. It can be easily plugged in the backyard or farmhouses and residents can enjoy mosquito free environment. Dynatrap is innovative as well as economical in the long run. It can remain switched on for 24x7 with very little power consumption with a long lasting UV bulb.

Dynatrap thus is a novel device introduced in India to get rid of mosquito menace effectively in an economical and eco friendly way. Dynatrap not only trap mosquitoes but is helpful in elimination of biting flies, moths, wasps and other flying insects without the use of pesticides or chemicals. Easy to maintain, long lasting with a simple set up Dynatrap is the right choice of happy and healthy mosquito free homes.
