BodiMetric health monitors, sold by Southeastern Medical Supply, will soon have even greater capability to monitor health status and protect life. In addition to supporting tele-health functions, the Bodimetric devices will incorporate the Rothman Patient Monitoring Index into its already impressive list of features.

The Rothman Index, developed by Alive Science, has announced a licensing agreement with the Bodimetrics Company. This will allow BodiMetrics to integrate Rothman Index questions into the monitors’ mobile applications, allowing users to conduct a quick self-assessment and add context to their daily collection of health vitals. This leading-edge integrated mobile app will provide users with a unique health score and trends, highlighting areas they can address themselves or share with their caregivers or health providers.

The Rothman Index is an effective, easy-to-understand tool for improving the management of chronic conditions, enhancing the quality of wellness programs and optimizing clinical trials and research. It utilizes patient data and other information to generate a patient health score. This score has been found to be sensitive to subtle changes, affecting health status, that can be missed without such analysis.

The BodiMetric devices are small, portable multi-parameter devices that capture and analyze vital signs. The BodiMetrics™ Pro Health Monitor (an FDA Class II device) and the BodiMetrics Performance Monitor capture ECG, heart rate, systolic blood pressure, blood oxygenation, temperature and other vital health metrics. These units are also blue-tooth enabled allowing easy sharing of data with family members or care givers in a HIPPA compliant environment.

The Rothman Index has already been validated in numerous studies and has been adopted for use by a number of hospital systems such as Sarasota Memorial Hospital, Orlando Health, The Methodist Hospital System (Houston), Blessing Hospital, Orlando Health, Yale – New Haven Hospital, Shannon Health (Texas), Shands Healthcare and the University of Florida.

Remote patient monitoring allows physicians, surgeons and patients to interact with real time information via telemedicine and mobile data sharing to assess the need for immediate care, track patients post-operative care, monitor medication response, and reduce readmissions and ER visits.

Southeastern Medical Supply will have these upgraded products available for both consumers and health care professionals. For medical professionals, such as cardiology groups, they can work with you and your organization and BodiMetrics to help formulate a value added telemedicine solution.
