8 Sudoku Variants Now Available from Conceptis

[ClickPress, Mon Jan 09 2006] Conceptis (www.conceptispuzzles.com) has released 8 new Conceptis Sudoku variants, consisting of unique puzzle sizes, grid layouts, box patterns and logical constraints. Four of these variants are available each week in the Free Weekly Puzzles page at conceptispuzzles.com.

With these variants, Conceptis’ puzzle fans can now enjoy a wider range of Sudoku logic, while our partners can improve and differentiate their current publications as well as launch new publications based entirely on these variants. The Sudoku variants now available from Conceptis are:

* MiniSudoku, for children and Sudoku newcomers who are looking for easy puzzles to learn with. These puzzles are available in 4x4 and 6x6 grid sizes.
* MegaSudoku, for challenged Sudoku fans with plenty of time in their hands. These puzzles are available in 12x12 and 16x16 grid sizes.
* IrregularSudoku, with new twists on logic and extra mental stimulation. These puzzles are available in 6x6, 9x9 and 12x12 grid sizes.
* DiagonalSudoku, with additional diagonal constraints. These puzzles are available in 9x9 grid sizes.
* MultiSudoku, for ultimate Sudoku puzzling fun. These puzzles are available in various arrays of 2, 3, 4, 5 and 11 overlapping Sudoku puzzles.
* SumSudoku, for puzzle fans who enjoy CrossSum (Kakuro) puzzles as well. These puzzles are available in 9x9 grid sizes.
* Odd/EvenSudoku, with additional parity constraints in some squares. These puzzles are available in 9x9 grid sizes.
* Sudoku multi-variants, which contain a combination of two or more variants in the same puzzle.

Sudoku is a universal and flexible concept, which enables the creation of many types of variants. According to Dave Green, president of Conceptis, many solvers find that Sudoku variants are more interesting, challenging and fun to solve. “They also add logic variety and increase the mental stimulation”.

Since their introduction in September 2005, dozens of magazines and books with Conceptis ClassicSudoku puzzles have been published in the USA, Canada UK, Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Greece, Spain, Italy, Estonia, Israel and more. In addition, Conceptis signed a worldwide agreement with King Features for international newspaper syndication, and with Lemada Light Industries Ltd. / Kod Kod for providing content to their three new board versions of the game.

With the recent introduction of Conceptis Sudoku variants, many Conceptis’ publishers are now adding them to their magazines, while others are in the process of launching dedicated Sudoku variant magazines before the end of 2005.

“But that’s not all” says Green, “We are continuing to develop and will soon release more variants! For example, a MultiSudoku-11 centerfold puzzle comprised of 11 Sudoku grids and more Multi-Variant Sudoku containing multiple variants in a single puzzle are both expected to be released in December 2005”.
