UKIP Takes Welsh First Minister to Task Over Expenses
The Chairman of UKIP Wales, Richard Suchorzewski, has written to First Minister, Rhodri Morgan and the leaders of the three Parties in the National Assembly of Wales demanding full disclosure of Assembly Members expenses.
[ClickPress, Mon Jan 09 2006] Mr Suchorzewski said: “It is time for the people of Wales to know the full details of what their Assembly Members are claiming in expenses”. The Scottish Parliament has recently published details on it’s website of every penny spent by MSP’s and the same information should be made available to the people of Wales”.
Mr Suchorzewski has recently clashed with Rhodri Morgan over the £230,894 the latter received in salary and allowances for the last financial year.
He added: “The Assembly Members who sit in Cardiff Bay must understand that it is taxpayers’ money they are receiving and they need to be accountable for every penny they spend”.
