The presentation will focus on interfacing wireless modules to sensors and other peripherals, scaling the system up to many nodes, estimating battery lifetime and reducing power consumption of target devices. Attendees will learn to recognize common themes in diverse wireless application requirements and translate these themes to key performance characteristics of the underlying system architecture. Ultimately, the presentation will teach common guidelines to designing wireless sensor networks, ways of avoiding common engineering pitfalls, and steps to effectively managing the most frequent application requirements.
