[ClickPress, Thu Jun 26 2008] Ibstock launched a new pre-fabricated modular bay window which can be installed into standard brickwork in a fraction of the time of traditional bay window construction. The new design is available in three sizes based around a lightweight steel frame for consistent high quality.
The new Modular bay Window is NHBC approved and is available in all Ibstock brick or stone finishes and be can either pre-pointed or un-finished for pointing on site. In addition GRC heads, cills, mullions and jambs are available to match other masonry and stonework products.
The Modular Bay Window is approximately half the weight of a traditional masonry built bay window. It is designed to be installed with the help of a rough terrain fork lift truck, and is supplied with a lifting frame which is removed after installation.
The new window is designed to be installed on a ground level damp proof course (DPC), with DPCs fitted around openings ready for windows and a glass reinforced polymer (GRC) canopy. Standard thermal performance is 0.34 W/m2K, which can be reduced to 0.20W/m2K with plasterboard and thermal insulation in the frame void.
