Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art Chooses ClickCaster for Total Podcasting Solution

New solution enhances visitor’s contemporary art experience.

[ClickPress, Wed Jan 18 2006] The Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art today announces it has selected ClickCaster to provide the museum with a complete podcasting solution.

By choosing ClickCaster, the museum is able to enhance their visitor’s experience by accessing audio podcasts on various exhibits and events. Currently, podcasts from the museum’s lectures, and other educational programs can be accessed directly via the museums website or ClickCaster’s podcast directory service. The museum is currently securing funding for the second phase of the podcasting project, which includes a central computer station located in the front entrance of the museum and several ipods with related exhibition information and other educational components already downloaded onto the audio device. These will then be loaned to museum visitors for the duration of their visit. This portion of the project will be available May 12, 2006.

“ClickCaster’s easy to use podcasting solution gives us the flexibility to create podcasts from anywhere, at anytime, right from the web,” said Kirsten Gerdes, Associate Curator. In addition to live lectures, the museum will also offer podcasts created by exhibiting artists, guest curators, museum collaborators and art historians, giving additional insight and commentary to the visitors overall contemporary art experience. “Contemporary art can be difficult to understand, with podcasting the museum is able to drastically enhance art appreciation and participation, “ Gerdes adds.

“We’re creating a virtual art experience that you can subscribe to and listen when you want, where ever you want,” says Scott Converse, CEO of ClickCaster. Users can even synchronize their podcast subscriptions to direct to their iPod or MP3 device right from the web with no additional software required.

The first series of lectures include a discussion on censorship in the arts and a poetry reading from exhibiting artist Ana María Hernando. Both podcasts are accessible via the museum website at www.bmoca.org as well as www.clickcaster.com.
