Coral Bookmakers places Allardyce as favorite for England post
Sam Allardyce has emerged as the new clear favourite to be the next England boss, after Coral cut him to 4-1 from 5-1 having taken a 1,500 pound bet on him via the internet this afternoon.
[ClickPress, Tue Jan 24 2006] However, Coral report that they are also laying a number of other contenders including Guss Hiddink and Stuart Pearce.
"Sam Allardyce has been easily the best backed contender by some margin today and that four figure bet forced us to take the scissors to his price", explained Simon Clare, Coral Spokesman.
"However, we have also taken some sizeable bets on Guss Hiddink and Stuart Pearce. This is turning into a brilliant betting event with more runners than the Grand National", added Clare.
