Actionaid Recycling agree with Recycle Assist that destroying the market for recycled goods is not in the best interests of consumers. Actionaid Recycling believe that in the UK consumers want a more environmentally friendly, cost-effective alternative to imported branded cartridges.

Actionaid Recycling work closely with the cartridge remanufacturing industry in the UK, collecting empty printer cartridges from businesses, to supply cartridge remanufacturers. Each year the industry helps to keep millions of printer cartridges out of UK landfill sites, while at the same time enabling charities like Actionaid to raise funds through setting up recycling schemes.

Actionaid Recycling and the industry trade association UKCRA (United Kingdom Cartridge Remanufacturers Association) continue to promote the use of high quality remanufactured printer cartridges in the UK. Any threats to the remanufacturing industry could possibly lead to an increase in the numbers of cartridges that end up in landfill sites, damage to UK jobs within the industry and a loss of revenue for charities.
