Villa Caruso exhibits established raw art

Great art requires a great venue.

[ClickPress, Sat Feb 18 2006] Italy is famous for its fantastic architecture. The Villa Caruso Bellosguardo is probably the most famous Villa in the ‘Lastra A Signa’ region near Florence. The villa was built on the hills overlooking Lastra in 1585 by the Florentine architect Dosio. Villa Caruso Bellosguardo was endowed with a beautiful Italian style garden, a park with statues and fountains. In 1906, the villa was purchased by the celebrated tenor Enrico Caruso, who decided to restore it and built a gallery with an upper terrace. The municipality of Lastra A Signa, the present owner, has promoted its rebirth as a centre of cultural life for the community. As a result, it is now a stunning location for art, music and concerts etc.

This stunning location will exhibit an exhibition of art co-organized by Franco Meloni, Piers Midwinter and Eleonora D’Andrea. Franco is an established Italian painter and sculptor. Piers’ is an artist, creator and director of Raw Art Link and the legendary Raw Arts Festivals. Eleonora is the creator and director of the Elexpo Gallery in Prato, Italy. Between them they have managed to attract many well known self-taught artists. The show will thus exhibit art created by Rosi Flood (UK), Stephen Judges (UK), Sue Kreitzman (UK), Andrew Lewandowski (USA), Franco Meloni (Italy), Piers Midwinter (U.K), Ben Reche (UK), Elizabeth Turnbull (Tasmania, Australia) and Ben Young (UK).

The exhibition will be open from 5th to 26th of March 2006. It will be featured in the Italian ‘Arte Magazine’ and colour catalogues contained the featured artists artworks will be available.
