Having the largest international presence at the entire show, UK companies used the exhibition to showcase their cutting-edge products and create international business partnerships.
Many of these, were supported by Medilink Yorkshire and Humber (Y&H), who managed the UKTI sponsored British Pavilion - the largest ‘country pavilion’ at the exhibition.
Innovations included the worlds only fully combined shower toilet system designed specifically for less-able or infirm people, which was showcased by Total Hygiene and the latest in emergency escape chairs, a product unveiled by Basingstoke based Evacusafe.
Experia, based in West Yorkshire, showcased their groundbreaking sensory room, which provides a calming and stimulating learning environment for people with special needs.
Glanmor, from Swansea, were also at the event to launch a unique range of canopies and rain hoods for scooters and wheelchairs and Hampshire based Traxsys showcased a range of innovative computer accessories and mouse alternatives to help people use computers independently.
Repeat exhibitor Gordon Ellis & Co, from Derby, also showcased a wide range of assistive technology products for the home; including commodes, toilet seats and shower stools.
John O’ Brien, owner of Glanmor, said: “Thanks to the support of Medilink Y&H, we were delighted to attend Rehacare 2008. It was a fantastic platform for us to exhibit our new range and it enabled us to establish some excellent contacts with distributors from across the world.”
