Specialized Pharmacy Supports Weekend Getaway For Hemophiliacs

The three-day retreat was held August 13-15 at Salter Path in North Carolina’s Outer Banks. It was a fun opportunity for the children that suffer from hemophilia, while also providing support and awareness for their parents. Anne Lowish, a MedPro, Rx registered nurse, gave a talk to the parents with tips for school situations and emergency preparedness. The talk emphasized parents working with their children’s schools to overcome obstacles and working with local rescue personnel to make them aware that their child is a hemophiliac. The children were also given safety talks, interspersed with fun activities.
