- 650 historical lots cross the block at Cohasco auction
A major unpublished manuscript archive of Southern history – including a 1775 map of Natchez, Miss.; a Mississippi plantation Bible maintained from 1839-1979; and a set of encyclopedias from the personal library of a slave owner and cotton planter – sold for $76,725 in a March auction held by Cohasco, Inc., of Yonkers.

- Housing market sees prices and demand dropping
The UK housing market is experiencing its worst slump in 30 years, according to figures released by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). The April survey showed that 95.1% more chartered surveyors reported a fall than a rise in house prices, the ninth successive month in which such falls have been reported, and up from 79.4% in March.
