- When all four tires are on a low traction surface, power is continuously balanced among all four wheels to avoid slippage.
- The system reacts in a fraction of a second and often before tires have actually broken traction.

In addition the MDX’s brake assist system can detect an emergency braking situation and will supply additional brake force if pressure on the brake pedal is determined to be insufficient.

- Sensors monitor the speed at which the brake pedal is depressed and the level of force the brake pedal is being held at.
- When emergency braking is detected, Brake Assist steps in to insure the ABS system is activated
- Brake Assist terminates immediately upon release of the brake pedal.
