FORT WORTH, TX – Allied Electronics’ customers can now find exactly what they need on the company’s new redesigned website. The user-friendly site offers more accurate search results, detailed product pages and an easier ordering system.

"Our customers were looking for an online presence—a place where they could find our products, and interact with our brand," says Robby Kyser, internet manager. "At the new Allied website, our customers will find the part they’re looking for and they won’t have to worry about a lengthy or confusing process."

After conducting extensive customer research last summer, the company’s marketing team found that customers could not find many products on its website due to outdated technology and poor search capabilities. With the launch of its new site, Allied integrated software technology that is much more intuitive and, therefore, increases positive search results.

The revamped site not only leads customers directly to the parts they need, but it also directs them to a detailed product page, where they can find additional information, including product images, pricing and availability. The product pages also include a link to the new simplified ordering system, which features a shopping cart like the ones found on most consumer websites, making it easier for a customer to place an order online.

"The new site was designed with usability at the forefront. We want our customers to find what they are looking for easily and remember the positive experience," Kyser says. "It’s all a part of our commitment to putting the customer first."

So far, it appears to be working. Since the launch of the site in January, the company has seen its web traffic double and online sales are up 41 percent over last year. To promote the new site, Allied announced this month that it has eliminated minimum order amounts for orders placed online.

Allied’s internet marketing team plans to add additional features to the website in the near future. Within the next year, customers will be able to view images for 80 to 90 percent of products and datasheets will be available for those products that offer them.
