Europcar, car hire firm, has announced that 'staycationers' planning their summer breaks in the UK can take advantage of a new 'up to 50%' discount deal.

Whether it's a bigger car to take all the family as well as the usual holiday paraphernalia, or a car booked for collection at the destination, Europcar is making car hire even more affordable for cash-strapped families this summer. With a hire renaissance as more households turn to hire things they would otherwise buy*, car hire offers a pay as you go solution without all the financial headaches of car ownership.

With a choice of highly maintained vehicles which are on average just under 6 months old and 24 hour roadside assistance, Europcar provides peace of mind, so customers can relax and enjoy their trip.

Europcar's Options+ additional product range also helps customers save money and tailor their car to their needs. For example, customers can reduce their excess to zero and have a free additional driver, or add on a Sat-Nav. Customers can also choose the option of delivery and collection to help reduce stress and hassle.

Catriona Lougher, Marketing Director for Europcar UK Group said: "With the hassles and increasing cost of train, and more people turning to hiring, to manage every day costs, car hire from Europcar offers maximum comfort, safety and flexibility. In addition, Europcar's nationwide network means we're an average of just 20 minutes away from every customer making access to our vehicles as easy as possible."

Notes to Editors
Bookings for Europcar's up to half price car hire offer must be placed online by 30/06/09 for rentals between 05/05/09 to 14/09/09.
