Mother of seven transulates her challenges into Poetic literature

Published: Thu May 05 2005

Fantasy/Controversy or My Reality by Ruth Andrews Garnes is not only an inspirational and insightful collection of poetic literature, it is a collection that everyone who dares to dream should experience. The collection unveils the faces we wear as lovers, parents, children, men, women, spiritual beings and more.

The book is dedicated to hurting children everywhere as the author attempts to give them a voice through some of her poems. She also gives voice to the child, lover and dreamer in all of us.

As a dreamer herself, Ms. Garnes dreams of being able to encourage and give hope to hurting children for whom she has always had a heart. Seeing this book as a conduit to accomplishing this dream, she intends to donate apart of her royalties to agencies that provide services to adoptive and foster families.

"Having seven children has never been cumbersome for me. I embraced the responsibility and the uproar. However, when children are adopted into a family, parents also adopt the children's issues. Being a mother of four adopted children I have found that it was with their issues that I struggled. I was convinced that if I faltered it would mean that I failed my children. I chose to write my thoughts down; it was my expression in prose that contributed in part to my getting through another day."
