Fathers’ day at Peak Village was a resounding success, and it wasn’t just the Dads who enjoyed the live jazz entertainment while browsing the array of classic cars and shops in the glorious summer sunshine; visitors of all ages were joining in the fun.

The afternoon program of events started at midday with Dizzy Club entertaining visitors with their fabulous jazz repertoire of old classics and more contemporary numbers. With a great reputation and a strong following in Sheffield and the surrounding areas, the band didn’t fail to please the Peak Village crowds – many turning up specially to see the group. Others were there specifically for the Heritage Classic car Tour of the Peak District, to shop in the variety of retail outlets, or simply to enjoy the mid-summer weather in the great outdoors.

At around 2.00pm, the Heritage Classic Tour descended on the shopping outlet, creating a buzz of excitement and a spectacular display of 12 pristine classic cars. Onlookers of all ages admired the hard work and dedication required to keep classic cars in such tip-top condition; one or two of the crowd seemed to have fond memories of adventures in similar cars themselves, in years gone by!

Terrence Morgan, one of Peak Village’s managing partners, said: "There certainly was an unbelievable atmosphere at the retail outlet on Fathers’ day, everyone responded to the great weather, the classic car rally and Dizzy Club’s trusty tones. All in all it was just the sort of family day out we were all hoping for, and there’s much more to come from Peak Village in the future in terms of more planned events and activities for families and kids."

Peak Village will be celebrating its tenth anniversary this summer and is planning a big commemorative event during the summer holidays. Details of this and other forthcoming events will be released nearer the time.

Peak Village is home to nearly 20 retailers including national names like Cotton Traders, Leading Labels, Ponden Mill, The Cook Shop and Mountain Warehouse. The outlet shopping centre attracts 750,000 visitors a year and offers visitors the opportunity to combine shopping with other local attractions.
