Highly acclaimed Peak District restaurant, The Maynard in Grindleford, is now serving its summer July and August menu with a range of seasonal dishes to leave diners spoilt for choice.

Starters, priced from just £6 – include delights such as Smoked Trout with a cooling Cucumber Parfait, or Tamarind Glazed Mackerel Fillet served with a refreshing mango and orange salad. With several other equally tempting choices, Head chef Ben Hickinson has made sure there is plenty to tempt regular visitors to return again. New main courses boast exciting choices such as Marinated Whole Baked Sea Bass, and includes vegetarian options such as the innovative Trio Aubergine Stack. With all dishes reasonably priced, dining at one of the few restaurants in the whole of South Yorkshire and north Derbyshire with two AA rosettes has never been so affordable.

Whenever we change the menu it is important that the outstanding quality people have become accustomed to is not compromised – regardless of price. I can confidently say that once again Ben has managed to impress with his range of delicious dishes, which keep the pocket happy as well as the palate."

The Maynard underwent a major hotel and restaurant refurbishment in 2007/2008, transforming the Victorian building from country chintz to contemporary chic. The Maynard’s food offering has been brought in line with the more modern feel of the décor, with locally sourced organic produced used wherever possible and the new menus continue to keep the restaurant up to date without compromising on quality.
