Cincom Systems’ President and CEO, Thomas Nies, will be welcoming guests at the 2005 Cincom Manufacturing Conference, Accelerate. On Monday, May 23, 2005, Nies will present the topic Welcome: The Impact of Technology on Operational Excellence, and shortly thereafter, Jim Shepherd, vice-president of research at AMR Research, will present Best Practices in Operational Excellence: Keys to Success.

As the longest-serving CEO in the computer industry with nearly 40 years at the helm, Nies has a unique perspective on the growth of information technology and its role in fulfilling business strategies as he continues to lead Cincom. Nies’ achievements include more than $3 billion in revenue generated from an initial $600 start-up investment and 19 straight years of generating more than $100 million in revenue – a feat unparalleled in the software industry except for Microsoft. Nies will share his views as well as highlight recent successes by Cincom partners and clients forging new solutions for a new age.

Shepherd has over 25 years of experience in manufacturing operation and software-industry management. Currently, his research coverage includes enterprise applications, supply-chain management, and the governance of global IT operations. Prior to this position, Shepherd served as both the vice-president of research and the vice-president of client research. Before joining AMR Research, he was director of product strategy at Avalon Software, an enterprise business systems developer for Fortune 1000 companies. Shepherd speaks frequently at industry trade conferences and is widely quoted in leading business and industry trade publications.
