Get your cash out of the attic! Peak Village Hosts Free Antiques Valuation Day

The Valuation Day will take place on Monday, October 12 between 10am and 4pm when James Lewis and fellow expert Annabel Brammer, from local auctioneers' Bamford's, will be on hand to carry out individual valuations for customers eagerly awaiting expert knowledge about their beloved family heir looms.

Mr. Lewis conducted over 200 valuations at the event in August and was happy to be invited back to the venue once again. The attendance of an additional expert means that customers will have double the opportunity to find out whether items such as antique jewellery, coins, ceramics, paintings and many more precious objects are really as valuable as they had hoped.

James Lewis is a popular TV Auctioneer and director of Derbyshire’s leading auctioneers’ house, Bamford’s. Mr Lewis is best known for his appearances on the hit BBC TV shows Flog it! and Cash in the Attic, and brings with him a wealth of knowledge of the antiques industry. Mr Lewis spends much of his time traveling around Ireland, the Lake District, Yorkshire, Derbyshire and Lincolnshire, pursuing his life-long loves of antiques’ valuations, fairs and auctions.

The valuation day is a free event, with an optional £2 donation to the Born Free Foundation, of which Mr Lewis is a patron. The Peak Village is encouraging its visitors to delve into the darkest depths of their attic for those family heirlooms.

Terrence Morgan of Peak Village said: "We are delighted that James Lewis is joining us again and hope that the event will be as successful as the first time around. Given that the last event took place in the summer holidays, I'm sure many people weren't able to attend so this is their opportunity to dig out their old treasures and ask the experts for their opinions."

Peak Village is home to nearly 20 retailers including national names like Exsports, Cotton Traders, Leading Labels, Ponden Mill, Pavers and Mountain Warehouse. The outlet shopping centre attracts 750,000 visitors a year and offers visitors the opportunity to combine shopping with other local attractions.
