Clean Plate Catering brings Dallas the perfect marriage of experience, a passion for food and presentation. Owner and Chef Tim McLaughlin’s diverse cooking background and style has established Clean Plate as a Dallas personal chef catering company committed to making every event unique and special. Focused on high quality, homemade products and exemplary services, Clean Plate creates memorable events through culinary creations.

"I don’t consider Clean Plate Catering to be just another Dallas catering company," said Tim McLaughlin, owner and chef of Clean Plate Catering. "Our goal is to create a personalized service for our customers, focused on delicious food that is interesting and sparks conversation. I tend to use an interactive style when I cook, meaning that I want customers to know what they are eating, where it comes from and how it was prepared."

Chef McLaughlin honed his skills in the art of classical French cookery in the Culinary Arts Program at Le Cordon Bleu, Scottsdale, Arizona. Out of school, McLaughlin began to develop his own personal cooking style. From fond memories of growing up with fresh, natural ingredients, McLaughlin incorporated herbs that were picked directly from his garden, rinsed and placed on the customer’s plate. In 2003 with his name a buzz in the restaurant industry, Chef McLaughlin accepted a job at the Chase Park Plaza in St. Louis, Missouri overseeing the Café Eau.

McLaughlin established himself as a "chef to be reckoned with" when he was recruited to open Red Moon Restaurant. During that time he served as an Executive Sous Chef, Executive Chef and General Manager while the restaurant was named "Nation’s Top 100 Asian Restaurants 2005" in Food & Wine Magazine and "Top Restaurants in America" in the Zagat Survey 3 years in a row, in addition to features in the New York Times and Boston Globe. In 2007, the Adam’s Mark Hotel in St. Louis received the AAA Four Diamond Award with Chef McLaughlin serving as the Chef De Cuisine. Also in St Louis, McLaughlin successfully opened Jim Edmond’s Fifteen, St Louis’ first urban steakhouse.

In 2008, McLaughlin made the move to Dallas to work for Food, Friends and Company. Recognizing a need for good food to get back in people’s homes or venue of choice, McLaughlin made the bold step out of the restaurants to start Clean Plate Catering.

"From the moment I arrived in Dallas, I knew this city appreciated good food and was serious about going out to eat. I couldn’t drive 25 feet without seeing another restaurant and I couldn’t walk around the corner without hearing someone talking about what restaurant they went to last night. So, I initially considered opening my own restaurant in Dallas, but then I recognized a need for people to be able to enjoy delicious food and good company in places besides restaurants. Why don’t I go to them? I can offer people that personal chef restaurant quality experience right inside their homes," said Chef McLaughlin.

Clean Plate Catering offers a variety of unique catering services to the Dallas area, accommodating a quiet, romantic dinner for two to larger events of up to 150 guests. Chef McLaughlin makes it a point to speak with every client and outline a custom menu no matter how small or large. Clean Plate Catering ensures that the menu is an extension of the celebration; quality ingredients, beautiful presentations and exemplary service are the hallmarks of creating a perfectly catered event.

"No customer is the same or has the same tastes. I talk with each customer to understand what types of foods are going to best complement the theme and event. I want my food to be remembered – whether it is a bridal shower for 20 or a grand opening reception for 75, Clean Plate is dedicated to a personalized, catered event that will not be soon forgotten," said Chef Tim McLaughlin.

The company also brings people and food together with private Dallas cooking classes. Chef McLaughlin constructs a hands-on environment where friends, co-workers or team members can share in an unforgettable and fun food experience. The cooking classes generate creativity and develop bonds, with the end result being a superb meal and plenty of memories. A few of the group cooking classes available include "The Secrets of Sushi," "Five Secrets to Healthy Cooking" and "Save Money, Eat Well."

"I really love doing the group cooking classes; I keep them highly interactive and involve the entire group. I always make sure each person goes away learning at least a couple things about cooking, but I also want to make sure that everyone has a good time. We cook. We eat. We talk. We even enjoy a little wine. It’s the best kind of class," said Chef Tim McLaughlin.

Clean Plate Catering’s formula of attention to detail, commitment to the customer and passion for food is the perfect recipe for this Dallas caterer. For more information visit http://www.cleanplatecatering.com or call 972-248-1205.
