Jack Skolds Joins Outer Banks Ocean Energy Corporation

Donald Evans, chairman and CEO of Outer Banks Ocean Energy Corporation (OBOE) (www.oboec.com), a renewable energy developer that intends to develop an offshore wind farm in federal waters off the coast of North Carolina, has announced that the company has hired Jack Skolds as president and chief operating officer. Skolds has extensive experience in the energy industry, most recently serving as senior executive vice president of Chicago-based electric utility Exelon Corporation’s generation business, where he oversaw 29,000 megawatts of generation capacity.

DETAILS:
- Skolds previously served in several capacities during his seven years at Exelon Corporation, including executive vice president and president of energy delivery, CEO of nuclear plant operator Amergen, president and chief nuclear officer of nuclear generation and chief operating officer of nuclear generation.

- Prior to Exelon, Skolds worked at Columbia, S.C. utility SCANA Corp. in a number of capacities, including president and COO of South Carolina Electric & Gas (SCE&G).

- Skolds spent five and a half years in the U.S. Navy training for and operating nuclear submarines.

- Skolds graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md. with a bachelor’s degree in engineering. He received his M.B.A. from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, S.C.
