ICT Funds For Six Clare Schools

The Department of Education and Science has allocated grants of EUR5,000 per room in respect of newly constructed permanent classrooms.

St Augustines NS Kilshanny, Cree NS, Carron NS and Ballycar NS will each receive EUR10k, while EUR5k is being allocated to Ruan Central N.S. Ballyea NS is to receive €40,000, under the Department heading ‘Primary New School projects reaching practical completion in 2009’.

According to Minister of State Killeen: "The grants will enable the six Clare schools in question to equip new classrooms with information and communications technology."

He added: "The money will be transferred to the school's accounts over the next week or two. They also will receive documentation and guidelines regarding the procurement of the equipment such as computer hardware, software and digital equipment."
