devolo Announces Launch of Dedicated B2B Business Division for Powerline Technology

HomePlug technology to expand from home networking to business use, widening reseller market and increasing revenue streams

[ClickPress, Tue Aug 15 2006] devolo, Europe’s leading provider of powerline technology, has announced the launch of a dedicated B2B business division, in order to meet the growing demand from business customers for networking over the electrical wiring for properties.

The formation of two specific company divisions – Consumer and Business Solutions – will ensure devolo continues to provide market-leading home networking solutions and enable it to develop customised B2B powerline solutions to fulfil the networking requirements of the business sector.

Resellers and VARs will benefit from a wider reseller market and increased revenue streams, with strong interest from a number of industry sectors for the powerline technology, including the hotel, cable network provider and housing association sectors.

devolo’s Business Solutions division is developing a range a customised solutions designed to meet the needs of B2B customers, including pure powerline products, coax and powerline hybrid products and a range of integration modules to enable data transfer over electrical wiring at 14, 85 and 200 Mbps.

With data transfer speeds of up to 200Mbps, the products ensure high-speed, high-quality networking across an organisation, to any room which has an electrical socket.

devolo’s powerline technology offers proven advantages over both Ethernet cabling and WLAN in a business environment, removing the need to install additional wiring and unaffected by any reduction in transmission quality, which can often be caused by walls and ceilings in wireless networks.
