Leading network monitoring solution extends business-critical functionality to Freeware and Standard
Paessler’s IPCheck has a global reputation for effectiveness. Now, the Freeware and Standard versions of the software include functionality previously limited to higher-end products
[ClickPress, Tue Aug 15 2006] The Freeware and standard version of an industry-leading network monitoring solution have been extended to include more business-critical functions than ever before. In response to the large and growing demand for the product, IPCheck from Paessler, which now has over 100,000 users, Paessler has extended the licensing of its lower-end products to include functionality which was previously limited to the professional and higher editions.
Freeware Edition (http://www.paessler.com/ipcheck/download) support has been extended from three sensors to five sensors. Now, all editions support all sensor types with sensor type limitations for freeware and standard editions removed. All editions also now support multiple user accounts and remote probes, features that were previously limited to Professional and higher editions. With the Medium Enterprise Edition, Paessler now offers a new mid-size license for IPCheck Server Monitor that supports five users and up to 1000 sensors.
“Network and system managers are increasingly relying on technology to automate and simplify business processes to optimize network performance and ensure maximum uptime of critical business functions,” said Dirk Paessler, CEO Paessler. “IPCheck’s new licensing provides system administrators and IT departments with the flexibility to monitor even more of their network - quickly, easily and efficiently.”
Paessler customers include small businesses and large enterprise organizations. 62 percent of Fortune 100 companies use Paessler products and the company’s solutions are popular with government and education organizations.
Eric Elder, IT Manager for Farmer’s Capital Bank Corporation uses Paessler’s Server Monitoring Bundle, including IP Check Server Monitor and PRTG Traffic Grapher, to monitor FCB’s network. “It has been the easiest product to implement and provides us a wealth of information that would otherwise not be monitored,” Elder says. “The data we collect now enables us to trend things that we otherwise took for granted. We now have strong baselines and know what is truly ‘normal’ versus what simply seemed normal or out of spec.”
Since Dirk Paessler founded the company in 1997, Paessler have been developing, marketing, selling, and supporting network software.
