OLYMPIC GOLD MEDALIST JAMES DEGALE MBE SIGNS WITH LONSDALE

Lonsdale, Britain’s leading boxing equipment and apparel brand, has agreed a sponsorship deal with James DeGale, gold medal winner at last year’s Olympics in Beijing.

DeGale, only having announced his move to turn professional in December 2008, is already one of the nation’s hottest sporting prospects. As Brand Ambassador, James will be joining legends of boxing that have worn Lonsdale apparel and fought wearing Lonsdale gloves, including: Mohammed Ali, Sir Henry Cooper, Ricky Hatton and Joe Calzaghe as well as current WBC Super Middle-Weight World Champion Carl Froch.

Lonsdale’s signing follows an incredible 2008 which saw the Hammersmith born but raised in North West London James ‘Chunky’ DeGale claim Olympic Gold within the Middle-Weight Division in Beijing and return home to pronounced success. His win inspired him to turn professional – where his aim is to become World Champion.

James ‘Chunky’ DeGale was kitted out in Lonsdale for his win over Nathan King this weekend in his 5th professional fight. The fight was screened live on Sky Box Office.
