Enterprising Women Adds New Members To National Advisory Board

Monica Smiley, publisher and CEO of Enterprising Women magazine (www.enterprisingwomen.com), has named Carey Earle, Ludy Green, PhD, Sandra Hansen and Lisa Wehr as Enterprising Women National Advisory Board members.

Earle, the chief idea farmer at Green Apple Marketing, Inc. located in Jamaica, Vt., is a serial entrepreneur bringing more than 20 years of experience to her clients. She has spent her career crafting brand strategy and marketing messages for several of the world’s most respected brands. Earle has co-authored two books with project management expert, Michelle LaBrosse, titled The Know How Network and Business in a Backpack. She has been featured in many publications from The New York Times to Working Woman and has appeared on CNNfn, CNBC, Bloomberg and PBS. Additionally, she has been featured in a documentary about women business owners, entitled "Alpha Female." Earle is an adjunct instructor at New York University and has also developed and taught a marketing management course at her alma mater, American University. She currently serves as a member of the Dean’s Advisory Council for the School of Communication at American University and is a member of the Women President’s Organization.

Green is the president and founder of Second Chance Employment Services (SCES), a nonprofit organization with locations in Washington, D.C. and New York, N.Y., providing meaningful employment for battered and abused women. She has more than 15 years of experience in the human resources field, previously serving as director of human resources for Centre for Development and Population Activities (CEDPA), associate director of human resources for Smith, Bucklin, and Associates and most recently as vice president of human resources for a Washington-based education policy think tank. Green is a national and international spokesperson for financial independence for victims of violence and their children. She was recently appointed by the U.S. Attorney General to be on the Advisory Council of Domestic Violence Against Women. Additionally she has received many prestigious awards including the 2008 Woman of Vision Award; the 2007 Washingtonian of the Year award; and the 2007 Professional Innovation in Victims Service honor by the U.S. Attorney General.

Hansen is owner and operator of her speaking business, Rock Solid Motion in Cold Spring, Minn., as well as AgVenture Feeds in Watkins, Minn. Hansen brings a message of motivation to business and community groups, sharing ideas and insights on how to move forward in life with a purpose. She shares her story with audiences, speaking about her struggles and victories in business and personal life after the loss of her husband. As a young widow, Hansen took on the responsibilities of her husband’s business in Watkins and helped AgVenture Feeds accomplish record sales through a time of uncertainty. Hansen continues to motivate audiences to pursue what they thought were unattainable goals, while working to make her business a leading force in the agricultural industry.

Wehr is founder and CEO of Oneupweb, a digital marketing agency located in Traverse City, Mich. Established in 1996, Oneupweb has seen more than 40 percent growth year-over-year for more than a decade. Wehr has been designing and optimizing Web sites and setting industry standards in search engine marketing since before Google’s inception. She is the only person to be named to BtoB magazine’s Who’s Who in the search marketing industry for five consecutive years. Wehr and her company have also been honored with local, regional, and national awards including Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year in 2003, and have also been featured on Wired.com, CNN.com, Forbes.com and more.

Members of the Enterprising Women National Advisory Board provide advice to the publication’s staff to tailor the magazine to meet the needs of entrepreneurial women.
