Peoples Limited, one of the largest independent Ford and Mazda car dealerships in the UK with over 600 employees based at six locations in Scotland and Liverpool, has completed a major upgrade of its multi-site security systems, in a project designed and carried out by systems integrator Network Defence.

The upgrade has significantly improved systems performance and manageability for the dealership and has also resulted in an increase in productivity, bandwidth availability and overall enhanced network security across all six Peoples Ecosse and Peoples Liverpool branches.

Network Defence upgraded Peoples’ security systems by integrating web and email content filtering. NetIQ’s range of content management software was deployed, with WebMarshal and MailMarshal protecting the organisation and its employees from inappropriate content and providing a secure Internet access platform.

WebMarshal and MailMarshal protect the group and its 600 strong workforce against viruses, spam and web misuse. Group IT Director Brian Peat says the new solution delivers more effective, centralised management and keeps the business secure. He said: "The installation was quick and trouble-free. The Web- and MailMarshal systems have a simple, common interface, which is much easier to use and understand. The system is also more stable, meaning our business is more secure and our employees better protected."

"We have worked with Network Defence for a number of years. The service they provide is excellent. They have always been committed and responsive to our needs. Through continued close consultation and work with Network Defence, we aim to achieve the highest networking standards and equip Peoples for the future."
