Orlando, FL June 6, 2005 -- Microsoft Tech.Ed - Sunbelt Software today announced the general availability of a major upgrade to their enterprise antispyware solution, CounterSpy Enterprise, which now includes desktop spyware protection. This upgrade offers organizations leading edge, enterprise-wide protection from spyware. The new Version 1.5 of the spyware protection software has even greater capabilities to detect and remove spyware threats with new Active Protection Monitors that deliver spyware protection on users’ workstations.

"This new version significantly strengthens Sunbelt’s leading position in the enterprise antispyware field." said Alex Eckelberry, president Sunbelt Software. "Combating spyware in the enterprise requires powerful tools designed specifically to reduce the time system administrators spend managing spyware on their users’ desktops, and CounterSpy Enterprise 1.5 delivers."

In addition to its already powerful antispyware scanning and management capabilities, this upgrade also offers enhanced support for remote console administration and terminal services.

Active protection "checkpoints" help secure desktops
CounterSpy’s Active Protection Monitors help reduce the chances of getting infected by spyware. Designed as a series of security checkpoints, the Active Protection Monitors observe system and application changes, internet activity and other potentially unwanted actions and responds to system changes such as home page hijacks, Active X installations, and browser helper objects (BHOs).

Policy-based management
CounterSpy Enterprise’s policy-based agent deployment allows administrators to set different recommended actions for the Active Protection Monitors based on groups of users. From the administrative console, administrators have the ability to centrally control what actions are taken when these monitors detect change.

Enhanced support for remote console and Microsoft Terminal Servers
CounterSpy Enterprise now supports multiple administrative consoles connecting to a single server. All consoles are updated when any changes are made to the CounterSpy server. Additionally, with support for Microsoft Terminal Servers all users receive Active Protection in their user space.

Pricing and system requirements
CounterSpy Enterprise is priced aggressively for all corporate environments and includes one year of spyware definition updates and product upgrades. A free trial version of CounterSpy Enterprise spyware protection is available on Sunbelt Software’s website at www.sunbelt-software.com.
