On Saturday, April 23rd, seventy-six students from The Delphian School, ages thirteen to eighteen, donated their help in various local communities as part of the school’s Community Service Day. The students did activities such as beach clean-up, tree planting and street clean-up in McMinnville, Lincoln City, Willamina and Champoeg State Park, located outside of Newberg. Students also helped a local elderly couple by taking down an old fence around their house.

The Delphian School has its voluntary community service day twice a year in addition to other projects, such as tutoring, that they do year round. "I enjoyed cleaning around the lake in Willamina," said student Chelsea Melchior. "It was fun and rewarding to be able to contribute to the community and make a difference."

Delphian student Felix Lange had a similar experience while helping clean up the beach in Lincoln City. "I had a great experience working at the beach. I liked making a difference in the community. I also liked setting a good example for other students my age."

The Delphian School is an independent, co-educational day and boarding school offering college preparatory, English-as-a-Second-Language and summer programs for elementary through high school students. The Delphian School is licensed to use Applied Scholastics(TM) educational services.
