On October 14, 2006 plan to enjoy barbecue and live big band music during the 16th Annual Big Band Hangar Dance and Silent Auction fundraiser, which will be held by the Vintage Flying Museum in Fort Worth.

"This year we are proud to announce that approximately 100 members of the WWII 486th Bombardment Group will be in attendance," said Chuckie Hospers, chairperson for the event. "If you like, dress in 1940’s attire or as your favorite aviator. Prizes will be awarded for the best dressed."

Plan now to enjoy a nostalgic evening with around a thousand or more like-minded individuals that go back in time when they enter an authentic WWII hangar. The Alan Glasscock Orchestra will be providing the big band sounds for the evening with a 16-piece orchestra. The bandstand will be set up right in front of the museum’s B-17 Flying Fortress, which is only one of 10 or so B-17s that are still capable of flying. The money raised goes to support the museum and to keep the B-17 airworthy.

Dinner will be served from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m., with dancing from 8 – midnight. The event is BYOB with soft drinks and snacks available for purchase. Advance dinner and dance tickets are $35. Dance only tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door. Reserve tables are available with the purchase of ten tickets. Corporate tables are also available.

Tickets are sold at the Vintage Flying Museum, 505 N.W. 38th Street, Hangar 33 South, Fort Worth, TX 76106. Call 817-624-1935 for information and ticket sales. Tickets are also available on the website at www.vintageflyingmuseum.org
