PRC partners with AARP assists in Food Drive for Salvation Army

SUNRISE, Fla., May 13, 2005—At 10:30am on Thursday May 12th, PRC and its client AARP unveiled its massive canned food donation for The Broward County Salvation Army Food Bank at PRC’s Sunrise Contact Center. The food drive was organized by ‘PRC Community Care’, the department of PRC that supports local charities and corporate citizenship within the South Florida community, including Kids in Distress, the American Cancer Society and Gilda’s Club South Florida.

"According to the Florida Homeless Coalition, one in five children in South Florida will go to bed hungry tonight. That’s unacceptable and PRC Community Care has rallied our employees to donate canned food for the needy in South Florida," said Alicia Miyares, PRC’s Vice President of Marketing and Communications. "We are so proud of our employees’ spirit of giving back to the community and honored to join forces with AARP and the Salvation Army."

PRC Community Care has collected over six thousand canned food donations from their many locations in South Florida, all being delivered to their Sunrise center. PRC Community Care did its research and found out what types of food items were needed the most and stressed that to their employees. Even their Pennsylvania center got involved and donated cans to a local organization.

"We are so grateful to the employees of Precision Response Corporation for this canned food drive," said Sally Gress, Director of Development for Broward County Salvation Army. "Traditionally, we collect lots of food during the holidays and then as summer approaches, our supplies run low. This large donation will go a long way towards helping us feed hungry people during the summer months."
