This Saturday New Vision Martial Arts School will hold its first annual Karate Olympics. Children will be able to compete in a wide arrange of martial arts inspired events. The event will occur at the New Vision Martial Arts Dorsey Run location starting at 11am. Refreshments will be served including pizza for lunch. Prizes will be rewarded to top finishers. Karate uniforms and collectables will be raffled off during the event.
"This event is a great opportunity for the kids to have fun while learning martial arts. My daughter Shayna and son Aaron absolutely love Ms. Shelly! She is a great instructor. They have learned so much from attending Ms. Shelly''s events and have a great time doing so. They are very much looking forward to the Olympics", said parent Adam Feinberg.
New Vision Martial Arts offers classes in martial arts and fitness kick boxing for children age 4 to adults. Classes are offered in three convenient Howard County Maryland locations. The program is led by martial arts champion and 5th degree black belt Shelly Walrath.
5th Degree Black Belt, Shelly Walrath has been studying martial arts since the age of 8. With over 30 years ofmartial arts experience, she balances patience with firm
discipline when teaching children.
She is the 1991 PKL National Woman Fighter of the Year and PKL Hall of Fame inductee. Shelly has won over 300 local, national, and international competitions and medaled in England, Spain, Italy, Austria, & Canada in the World
Championships. In 2001, Shelly took the Gold at the IAKSA World Championships and again in 2010.
