Many times at home you could wonder how to remove carpet stains without carpet cleaning chemicals. There is one of the ways to do this:

Blot wet stains with a clean white towel. Always use white towel, other colours can decolour your carpet and you will not catch any different on cloth when its happen. Never wipe, because this will spread the stain and will get worked into the carpet fibre. Repeat this step until you cannot blot anymore.
Next mix a cup of hot water with a teaspoon of mild dish washing liquid. Apply just enough to cover the stain and blot to dry. Keep repeating this step until the stain is cleaned.

For wine, do the same thing, except use club soda and blot the area stain free. Finish by placing a solution of 2 teaspoons of white vinegar mixed with warm water, over the spot. Blot with a clean white towel. Remember that patience is the key. If the stain is stubborn, you can use rubbing alcohol or peroxide in the same manner. Just test the carpet to make sure it's colourfast first.

Greasy stains need a liberal amount of cornstarch or baking soda to be sprinkled over the spot. It must be left alone for 12 hours, after which it can be vacuumed up. Then apply a solution of 1 part vinegar to 2 parts warm water to the area and blot it the same way as above.

Soft or gummy stains need to be hardened before removal. Ice cubes or chips are a good way to harden these first. A spoon can then be uses to scrape off the material. When removed you can apply any of the above stain removing techniques.
