Bear Hangs Unconscious In Tree

As soon as wildlife officials shot a 90k bear with tranquilizer darts, it became jammed up the tree in Oxnard, California.
The bear was first sighted in a fire station parking lot in a residential area around 2.20 a.m. Wildlife officers then pursued it through apartment complex yards, a cemetery and finally a condominium complex, where it scaled a tree.
Officials from the California Department of Fish and Game shot the bear with at least three tranquilizer darts, as it lay perched 25 feet above the ground, after arriving at the scene at around 4.30 a.m. The bear was stuck up the tree as branches under the sedated bear's stomach and waist kept it in place and blocked it from falling to the ground.

Oxnard firefighters hoped the bear would not wake up, as they used a chainsaw to cut away the branches, in order to get access to the bear.

At approximately 8.00 a.m. the unconscious bear was finally lowered out of the tree.

Bears, however, are not something to be treated lightly, as the owner/fisherman of a plane, in the Alaskan backcountry discovered.

He mistakenly left some fresh bait in his plane. One of the local bears ransacked the plane, in an effort to get to the fresh bait.

The pilot called in a buddy to deliver him some new tyres, a sheet of plastic and three cases of duct tape. He patched up his plane and flew his duct-taped plane home.

Another fisherman/hunter commented that normally it is moose that do that kind of damage to a plane, as they attempt to remove the velvet off their new antlers.

At Baker Lake in Washington State Fish and Wildlife agents came across a bear passed out on the lawn of a Baker Lake Resort.

It appeared the bear had managed to get into campers' coolers and used his claws and teeth to puncture cans of beer. It seemed however, that the bear had a particular preference.

Bookkeeper at the campground and cabins resort east of Mount Baker, Lisa Broxson said "He drank the Rainier and wouldn’t drink the Busch beer". It appeared that the bear had tasted one can of Busch beer and rejected the rest. There were 36 cans of empty Rainier beers all around the unconscious bear, but the Busch cans remained untouched.

When wildlife agents tried to chase the bear from the camping ground, it climbed a tree to sleep it off for four hours. The agents finally chased the bear away, but it returned the next morning. The agents then managed to bait a humane trap and relocate the bear.
