Linlithgow groups object to local plan

Linlithgow Community Council and Linlithgow Civic Trust have lodged formal objections to West Lothian Council’s Local Plan.

Community Council Chair Morag Nelson and Civic Trust Chair Ron Smith both expressed disappointment that the Local Plan failed to address the real issues facing Linlithgow, both now and in the future.

In a statement, they said: "Once again Linlithgow seems to be ignored in the Local Plan. The policy of restraint seems to apply to the Council as well as the developers. During the summer the Community Council and Civic Trust will be preparing their own Plan for Linlithgow and will be seeking the community’s views on their ideas in a series of meetings to be held in the late summer.

"We really want to hear what people think about the problems we face, and come up with solutions that the community will support. In the meantime, we urge everyone to make their views known about the Local Plan."

"So that everyone can make up their own mind about the issues we have attached the full text of our letter of objection to this article. Please feel free to use any of it to help you make your own comments."
