South Shore Elder Services of Braintree, a non-profit agency that provides valuable resources and services to elders and caregivers throughout the South Shore area, has recently donated two caregiving books to the libraries of the 11 towns served by the agency.

In honor of National Family Caregiver Month (November), the Family Caregiver Support Program at South Shore Elder Services donated: "How to Care for Aging Parents" by David Solie, M.S., P.A., and "Caregiving- The Spiritual Journey of Love, Loss and Renewal" by Lynda A. Markut and Anatole Crane to the main public libraries in Quincy, Braintree, Milton, Randolph, Holbrook, Weymouth, Hingham, Hull, Cohasset, Scituate and Holbrook.

According to the National Family Caregiver Association, 54 million people spend 18-20 hours a week caregiving. Both of the donated books offer valuable information and guidance to elders and their caregivers.

South Shore Elder Services’ book donation is provided by the Elder Care Network Southeast, a collaboration of elder care agencies in Southeast Massachusetts. Funding for this program is provided in part by the Administration on Aging under Title III-E of the Older Americans Act and the Massachusetts Executive Office of Elder Affairs.
