Transforming the plumbing industry.”

What happens when a young Master Plumber sets out to eliminate the negative stereotypical image of a plumber? In the case of John Wood, he becomes the CEO of his own innovative enterprise, HUB Plumbing & Mechanical of Boston, MA, and begins the transformation of the plumbing industry.

Wood wasn’t satisfied with level of service normally provided to a customer in this industry, so he set out on his quest to transform the plumbing industry by establishing Hub Plumbing & Mechanical.

Wood’s goal as CEO of HUB Plumbing is "to outperform the competition by out satisfying the customers." Currently managing four teams of plumbers and technicians, Wood has initiated an incentive program for his employees, enabling them to be in charge of their own earning potential, while availing themselves of additional opportunities to further their own experience and training.

At Hub Plumbing, "Gone are the days of waiting for a plumber to call you back, showing up at your door (if they show up at all) with disheveled attire, at the most inconvenient time," notes Wood. "The time has come for members of the trade to look and act like professionals, performing a valuable service for homeowners and businesses, as they deserve."

Wood, who enthusiastically seeks new materials to improve the working culture, is open-minded to implementing new ideas and practices. A graduate of Cape Cod Plumbing School, and Old Colony Trade School, Wood is a member of the Dorchester Board of Trade, the Speakeasy Stage Company, and the Ashmont Civic Association.

Wood, a native of Dorchester, MA, currently resides in Boston, MA.

About HUB Plumbing
HUB Plumbing & Mechanical takes the plumbing industry to the next level, utilizing a professional, friendly, customer-centered approach. In addition to protecting your floors with red carpet, HUB’s experienced plumbers also cover their work boots with stain-resistant boot covers, wear ID badges for security purposes, and arrive on time and smartly dressed in crisp, clean uniforms.

The company does not charge by the hour, but by the specific project. Hub Plumbing & Mechanical is available 24 hours a day and 7 seven days a week to provide immediate access and peace of mind. Live receptionists manage and dispatch emergency calls in house, not via an answering service or third party, to streamline the service.

Hub Plumbing & Mechanical was established in 1999 and now includes a staff of 11 full time employees. This full service plumbing company assists residential and commercial customers with code violations, sewer/drain clogs, garbage disposals, water heaters, water filtration, steam and hot water boilers, thermostats, leaky faucets, tub valves, gas pipes, appliance installation, and outside hose faucets.
