[ClickPress, Tue Mar 01 2005] LetsComIT PDA solution has shown its flexibility and adaptability by venturing into the vending machine industry. Proving more customizable than existing solutions, Refreshing Times Group Ltd. chose a PDA solution from LetsComIT to streamline its business practices and to communicate more efficiently with its mobile workers.

Previous to employing a PDA solution from LetsComIT, an engineer would be contacted via mobile phone, and job details dispatched. Once completed, information would be returned over the phone and inputted manually into their Pegasus database. Refreshing Times Group Ltd. chose to implement a PDA solution, fully integrated into their existing back office. The system which they adopted had to be flexible enough to adapt to their organisation and customizable enough to fit the way they work.

LetsComIT created such a PDA solution based around their existing service sheets, ensuring that the transfer between paper and PDA was as smooth and as simple as possible. As a call is taken from a customer, information is logged, as before, onto their database. However, rather than creating a paper-based job sheet, details are now sent directly from Pegasus to an engineer’s PDA. Information received by an engineer is identical to that which he would have received by paper or by phone.

Once a service is complete, engineers simply enter information onto the PDA using an easy to use series of scroll down bars and tick boxes. A customer signs off the work directly onto the PDA and this data is then sent via GPRS and automatically updated into their database. Should work not be able to be finished due to missing parts, an order is raised directly from an engineers’ PDA and an e-mail automatically sent to a customer. This e-mail details exactly why the work cannot be completed, which part has been ordered and when it is expected to arrive at their premises. By keeping their customers informed of precisely when work is due to be finished, Refreshing Times Group Ltd. can continue to meet the highest standards of customer service and satisfaction.
