Much cheaper than existing smart cards as well as being more secure, the VIP-Smartcard® is based on Certex Systems’® new software technology. This patented device, developed by ENIGMA SYSTEMS, is used to increase the security of audio and video content in any remote device (TV receiver, PC, mobile phone, etc.) without making material changes to content.

Certex Systems® software does not need an encoding/decoding key or bidirectional transmission channel. Unique on the market, the system cannot be attacked like other security systems because it is based on the mathematical principle of undecidability. Certex Systems® protects software and content in real time. It renews security as often as needed via executable certificates, which invalidate any pirated version on the spot.

Because of its low cost, the VIP-Smartcard® will appeal to pay-per-view digital-television operators wishing to move into emerging markets.
