Shades of Happiness announces 2nd Corporate Cricket Tournament: HOPE CUP 2010

Shades of Happiness, the Delhi-based NGO that works towards improving lives of street children, announced the dates for the 2nd Hope Cup, the big-league corporate cricket tournament. The event, which saw participation from various corporate like WNS, INTELENET, CSC, CARGIL, etc. last year, would be hosted at St. Columba’s School ground, New Delhi from October 23-31, 2010.

Hosted over two action-packed weekends, the Hope Cup 2010 will see the top 16 corporate teams from Delhi, Gurgaon and Noida, compete in this League and Knock-out tournament. Proceeds from this event will be used by Shades of Happiness to start a shelter for the homeless. The preliminary round would consist of 4 groups, consisting of four teams each. Each team will have to battle it out over 3 league matches to make it to the semi-finals. Winners of Hope Cup 2010 walk away with the rolling trophy and cash prize of upto Rs. 75,000.

About Shades of Happiness

Shades of Happiness (SoH) is a registered NGO based in Delhi, aimed at improving the lives of Street children. These children mostly work as rag pickers, beggars and labourers at the tea/food stalls. For last 2 years, we have been holding classes and sessions at St Columba’s School, in order to foster a sense of warm, organized learning and comradeship among the SoH children. We have worked on a range of issues seeking to ensure the provision of basic education (both academic and vocational) to those belonging to some of the most deprived sections of the society. We proudly say that the SoH children are bright, talented and hard working, and we just help them reach goals of economic and social empowerment.
