DATELINE: BRAINTREE, MA... Thinking about selling your old car, truck or boat? South Shore Elder Services encourages you to consider donating your car to the "Wheels for Meals" program and help a worthy cause – the Meals On Wheels program for elders. South Shore Elder Services, a private, non-profit agency that provides seniors and caregivers in the South Shore area with valuable resources and services, is headquartered in Braintree, Mass.

Helping Hands of America’ s Wheels For Meals program helps to raise money for South Shore Elder Services’ Meals On Wheels program, in which volunteers deliver meals to homebound elders who are unable to prepare meals, have someone prepare meals for them or who are unable to attend a nutrition center in the community.

By donating your vehicle or boat to Helping Hands of America’s Wheels For Meals, you will be able to deduct it from your taxes as well as avoid the cost, time and responsibility of trying to sell it yourself. What’s more, you will have the satisfaction of knowing that your donation helped seniors in need.

At your request, Helping Hands of America donates a portion of the funds raised from your vehicle or boat liquidation to South Shore Elder Services’ Meals on Wheels program.

"The Wheels For Meals program is certainly win-win. We’re better able to fund the meals program with the proceeds we receive, while ‘wheels donors’ benefit from a valuable tax deduction," noted Ed Flynn, Director of South Shore Elder Services.

To make a Wheels For Meals donation, contact Helping Hands of America directly at 1-888-881-9090 or visit the website at www.helpinghandsofamerica.org.
